Acting on Faith

Dear Friends,

We start 2014 with great hope in Eastern Europe, Siberia, and in Africa. We are asking God to bless our work and give us fruit for our efforts.

Recently a friend asked me if I was biting off more than I could chew working in Africa and Europe and with a new work starting in Siberia. Back in 1988 I was church planting in the Western U.S. I had a difficult time finding a good job to provide for my family and at the same time doing the work of a church planter. In short, one day we were out of money and food. We cooked the last of our potatoes that Sunday, fed the girls and prayed to God for help. That afternoon, three families in our church that had been praying for us brought groceries by the house. That was perhaps the beginning of our walk of faith. Since then we have seen God use us to build a large church planting and camp ministry in Moldova. I have come to realize that in Moldova the best is yet to come as my national co-workers are taking on more of the work and responsibility there, even reaching into Russia as missionaries.

The African ministry is growing far more than expected and it is just impossible to explain it to you in a letter. It is normal for some to doubt my stories of faith and expanded ministry in Malawi. However, God is doing some amazing things in the world, and even if you are not seeing the same results in your church please pray and understand that the most powerful force on earth is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Word of God is spreading around the world and soon all the world will know of His saving grace. This year could be the best year ever in our ministry.

Pray for Malawi and Moldova,

Dr. Eric Chapman
