On our Way!

Dear Friends,

CURRENT PRAYER NEEDS:

I think we did it this time. We bought tickets on a charter flight out of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia which will land us in Malawi Saturday around noon, local time. We leave South Carolina Wednesday July 15, about 3 p.m. and sleep in Washington, DC. On Thursday we have a 13-hour flight to Ethiopia where we have to spend the night in Addis Ababa. On Saturday, if all goes as planned, we will have a 4-hour flight to Lilongwe, Malawi and a 4-hour drive home to Zomba. We may have to quarantine for two weeks there in our home.

The first thing we will do is get all the paperwork together to renew our work permits. Trust me, this is not easy, and it is quite time consuming. One of our team will do the leg work, so maybe that is one benefit of quarantine.

In August we plan to run a month of mobile medical clinics in the villages. I will also be checking on the day camp teams, as they travel within their regions evangelizing. There will be many churches to visit. I plan to go to Central Asia or Moldova in September, but if those countries remain closed to us because of Covid, I will just dig in and help the local pastors start some churches. The nice part is that they will do that even if I leave Malawi; it’s just a fun job for us all.

In my last prayer letter, I mentioned the need for church roofs in Africa of $400 each. Some good donations came in for the roofs, and there remain about 15 churches with this need. We are also setting up our schools in Moldova and Central Asia for on-line learning. We need $3,000 for the technology to make this happen.

God is blessing the work around the world, and I can’t wait for the day when this pandemic is over, and our evangelists and ministers are free to work for Christ.

God Bless,

Dr. Eric Chapman
